Michigan State University College of Nursing will host an informational session for the Accelerated Second Degree Program. Through the program, individuals who already have a bachelor’s degree can earn a baccalaureate nursing degree in just one year. Upon completion of the program, graduated nurses will be eligible to take the licensure examination for registered nurses.

During the informational session, representatives will present information about nursing career opportunities and MSU faculty will give an overview of the Accelerated Second Degree Program, including eligibility requirements. Those students accepted into the one-year nursing program will attend classes on the MSU campus in East Lansing.
The American Association of Colleges of Nursing estimates that more than 1 million new and replacement nurses will be needed by 2014. The Accelerated Second Degree Program at Michigan State University is designed to expand the pool of qualified nurses in the workforce.
Financial aid is available at MSU for all eligible candidates.
