Class of 1957 Celebrates their 50th Class Reunion

Monday, July 16, 2007

The College of Nursing Class of 1957 was on campus to celebrate their 50th Class Reunion on June 7th and 8th with the College of Nursing and Michigan State University.

On Thursday evening 10 of the 20 living classmates and their guests attended a dinner hosted by the College of Nursing in celebration of their 50th class reunion. On Friday morning the class journeyed to the Life Sciences Building to enjoy breakfast and to take a tour of the Janice Thompson Granger Learning Center.

During the tour of the Granger Center “amazing, remarkable, and incredible” were heard continuously not only by the alumni but from their guests. Pat Murray said, “I would have much rather learned to give an injection on a simulated arm than into one of my friends and having her own arm used as a practice tool.” Everyone agreed that the learning tools available to train future nurses today are marvelous. Many wished that they could have stay and played in the lab for the rest of the morning.

It was great to have the Class of 1957 back on campus and we hope that they will continue to celebrate all year and return back to campus during the annual Alumni Homecoming tailgate on October 13 to celebrate with the other nine milestone reunion classes. If you are a member of the 1962, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, and the 2002 classes please join your classmates for your reunion celebration.
